When considering buying a property abroad many people decide on the sunny climate and white san beaches that line the beautiful Costa Blanca in Spain. One of the most desirable areas of Spain is the stunning Jalon Valley. However, recent negative news reports have seen many potential buyers shun the area. So what is the truth to the beautiful Jalon Valley?

The Jalon Valley has some of the best scenery, and what's more this striking backdrop changes periodically with the seasons. In spring the almond blossom decorates the area with splashes of purple, pinks and white, whilst towards summer the orange trees blossom and the air is gently fragranced with citrus hints. Towards autumn the valley is green with the grape vines and the farmers are out harvesting their valuable crops. Whilst in winter we may be lucky enough to have a dusting of snow over the highest peaks – picture postcard just by looking out of your window!

When visiting the Jalon Valley, or after your relocation to the Costa Blanca, always take the opportunity to visit some of the historic areas, these include: the Fonts D'Algar, a natural fresh water spring which is luxurious in the summer: La Peñon de Ifach, walk to the top of the famous Calpe rock and enjoy the stunning 360º views and the village of Guadalest, with the lake views and super little gift shops this pedestrian only village shows us the techniques used in Spanish farming from yesteryear.

Christmas events in the Jalon Valley

Christmas is always a magical time in the Valley, with a number of festive activities taking place including theatre productions and shows. This year Parcent has adopted the "Christmas shopping in Parcent" iniciative. Similar to that of Jalon, all purchase receipts can be placed into a number of well positioned boxes with the possibility of winning up to 300 Euros!, whilst the charity Jalon Valley Help has a Christmas Bazaar and Fashion show taking place on the 2nd of December in Alcalali.

With the thermometers dropping there has been whispers of snow. We may not have the thick snow that has fallen over areas of the UK this week but the Valley has seen, in previous years, a dusting of the white stuff over the highest mountain peaks. There is nothing more surprising and pleasant then walking round the Jalon countryside, in warming sunshine admiring snow on various mountains.

As always when blogging you look for ideas, or hope ideas spring to you during the course of the day/week. However, I am really into reading The Modern Estate Agent. It's a fantastic blog written by Martin Smith who not only has an excellent flair for writing but who provides thought provoking ideas for estate agents.

I am constantly looking for new marketing ideas, thoughts and opinions on how to better myself in my work field and after stumbling across Martin's blog I realised how stagnant the property world is in Spain.

Recently I tried a, what I consider, fantastic and innovative new approach to advertising a property. I wrote the description from the point of view of the house and the house asking if it can be your new your new home. I did this because I get a bit tired of writing the same style descriptions and thought (you know what that did!) the clients would appreciate a bit of different reading material. I think I was wrong....

I have had minimal rquests since my innovative approach, I still have 1 brochure left in this design after a week whilst the other brochures have had to be re printed during the week and no-one (not one person) has commented on my new approach.

So after feeling abit bruised by the feedback I am to concede defeat. I am going to revert back to the same writing style and hopefully sell the house before one of my competitors.
